European Tour Profile  - Mike Miller

Miller was the European Tour's Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 1979.

That year he lost a playoff to Mark James at the Welsh Golf Classic. He

never came closer than that to winning a European Tour event, though

he finished second in the 1983 Kronenbourg Open. His best ranking on

the European Tour Order of Merit was forty-seventh in 1981. However he

has won several professional tournaments, including one each on the

Challenge Tour and the European Seniors Tour, which he joined in 2001.

Recorded two top finishes in 2008 tying for ninth in the Azores Senior Open

and the Jersey Seniors Classic. Came close to a second Senior Tour

victory in his homeland in September 2006, but a final round of one over

par left him tied for third place in the Charles Church Scottish Seniors

Open. It proved to be his best result of the year and ensured the Scot

finished inside the top 40 on the Order of Merit. Won the Nigel Mansell

Classic, presented by Sunseeker International in 2003.  Won once on the

Challenge Tour in the 1996 Kenya Open and has also captured several

titles on the Tartan Tour in Scotland. Represented Scotland as an

amateur before turning professional in 1978 and winning the Sir Henry

Cotton Rookie of the Year title in 1979.
