Started golf at the age of three under the influence of his father, a

 professional in the 1960’s. Scottish Boys Champion in 1988, Murray has represented Scotland at boys, youths and senior level. Has won one

 regional event in Scotland since turning professional in 1997. Earned his

 place on The European Tour through the Qualifying School at his third

 attempt, claiming the 36th card. Second cousin to Mike Stewart, The

 European Tour’s Senior Referee and Qualifying School Director.

Runner up in the 2001 Scottish Professional Championship at Gleneagles,

 played on the European Tour in 2003 and qualified in 2005 to play in the

 British Open at St Andrews.
